The pattern on the foils of Dome Galanthus took shape while observing the simple form of the Galanthus flower bud. Later it morphed slightly into the simpler form of a water droplet which was then arranged in a series of gentle arcs that expand on their journey towards the base. When viewed with a part cloudy sky as the backdrop, the drops can appear to cascade.

The standard material is mild steel, which will be galvanised to protect it from corrosion before being painted in RAL silver. You may choose to have the inside surfaces painted with a RAL colour of your choice.

Alternatively, as your sculpture will be made to order, you can customise the finish at extra cost. You could choose to have the piece made from marine grade stainless steel and polished to reveal the mirror like finish. Once again the internal surface can be painted with a RAL colour of your choice.

The Dome is also available with a silver grey sail material, to provide extra shade if you choose to use this in a seating area. Please state that you want this option when ordering as the fixing holes are cut before finishing and cannot be retro fitted.

Why not have a unique design created especially for you? This is reassuringly expensive but bespoke usually is. At least you will have the satisfaction of knowing that your design will be one of a kind.

The Dome has been produced in two sizes, 3.5 and 4.5 metres diameter. These will give a head height at the centre of approximately 2.5 to 3 metres – plenty of space for several people to stand comfortably beneath the arcs. Other sizes can be specified. Please call to discuss your requirements.
